George’s entrepreneurial spirit paved the way for his son, Phil Slocum, to join the business in 1978 officially. On Phil’s first day, George gave him a piece of advice that would define the company’s mission for decades:“The first day you put the commission dollar ahead of the customer’s need is the last day you’ll ever be in this business.” Those words continue to shape the way the Slocum team serves its clients.

Now headquartered at 333 Centerville Road, the company operates under the leadership of George’s son Phil and his grandsons, Nick & Chris, making it a true third-generation family business.

In 1977, Slocum Real Estate took a leap by becoming Rhode Island’s first Century 21 franchise—a bold move that set the stage for the company’s growth in the real estate sector. Today, Nick Slocum runs the real estate division, which now accounts for 50% of the business, while Christopher oversees the insurance side.

The event was a spectacular gathering, featuring everything from prime rib dinners to an impressive ice sculpture commemorating the occasion. Warwick’s Mayor, Frank Picozzi, even swapped his usual casual attire for a tie to present a citation honoring the company’s long-standing impact on the community.

A Special Surprise: Nick Slocum Named REALTOR® of The Year:

Adding to the celebration was a heartwarming surprise—Nick Slocum was honored as the REALTOR® of the Year by the Kent Washington Association of REALTORS®. This prestigious recognition highlighted Nick’s dedication to both his clients and the community. The surprise honor was a testament to his leadership and the strong relationships he’s built over the years.

Giving Back Through Slocum Cares

The Slocum family believes in giving back. Last year, the company’s nonprofit, Slocum Cares, raised $18,000 during their Slocum Shootout Charity Golf Tournament to support causes like the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association and The Tomorrow Fund. This year’s tournament raised a combined $17,500 for Warwick Boys & Girls Clubs and the ALS Association.  Combined with yearly Flag & Pumpkin deliveries to our communities in Warwick, Slocum is committed to supporting the community that has given so much to them.
